We want to share the talents of our friend Jim Callans of Old Star Press in Venice, Califas. Jim is dedicated to the preservation and operation of vintage printing presses. He prints from a massive 2,700lb 1915 Chandler & Price press, a smaller 1893 Kelsey press, and 'portable' 1957 Adana QH Proof Press. Lance started out documenting skateboarding and punk bands in the early 90's on the East Coast. Lance's portfolio has matured over the years with auto culture lifestyle stills to the notable celebrity. Keep up the great work Mr. Dawes.

Most of the street photos are of Vancouver, where he emigrated to in 1953. While employed as a medical photographer, his passion for photography took him on evenings and weekends to the streets to document the daily life of ordinary people. He worked with slide film, mostly Kodachrome, during a time when most photographers worked mainly with black and white.
